This week, the AFD team swapped office chairs for paddles and spent the evening kayaking with the fantastic Ribble Canoe Club. We learned the basics (and got a bit wet in the process!), all while building stronger bonds outside the workplace. By the end of the session, everyone had completed the Paddle Start Award, marking a great achievement for the team.
It was a great reminder that the same teamwork we rely on in the office is just as important when you’re working together on the water. Just like in aviation, where safety depends on clear communication and trust, kayaking showed us how essential it is to support one another and stay aware at all times. A huge thanks to Ribble Canoe Club for their expert guidance throughout the session.
