Airframe Designs is excited to announce the formation of an Advisory Board aimed at supporting our strategic growth as we expand our engineering and additive manufacturing services across the aviation, defence, and space sectors.

We are honoured to have Gary Lumby, MBE, chairing our Advisory Board. Gary brings a wealth of experience as a seasoned business advisor, having guided numerous companies through growth phases. His distinguished career in banking and his recognition with an MBE for Services to the Finance Industry underscore his expertise. Additionally, Gary serves as a growth expert on the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Business Programme, in collaboration with Oxford University Business School.

Joining Gary on the Advisory Board is Jeff Cheetham, whose extensive expertise in engineering and business development further strengthens our board’s capabilities. Jeff’s background includes significant roles at various strategic management levels within BAE Systems, and he currently serves as a non-executive director of the North West Aerospace Alliance.

The establishment of our Advisory Board marks a significant milestone for Airframe Designs, reflecting our substantial growth, now comprising nearly 30 dedicated team members.

Jerrod Hartley, CEO of Airframe Designs, stated: “The combined experience and insight of Gary and Jeff will be invaluable as we continue to scale our operations and expand our service offerings. The board will play a crucial role in refining our business planning, growth strategy, and ensuring we maintain our high standards of governance.”

Our expertise in polymer additive manufacturing technology, combined with 3D scanning and 3D modelling, allows us to offer creative solutions to complex engineering challenges in the aviation and defence sectors, including airframe tooling. This technology is also adaptable to other industries, such as space, nuclear, motorsport, and rail.

Recent projects undertaken by Airframe Designs include the design and manufacture of several 3D printed tooling fixtures to aid the installation of external sensors onto the fuselage of a special mission military aircraft, and the integration of new systems into heavy lift drone platforms. We have also been responsible for the conceptual design at a platform level for new uncrewed air-systems, test rig and tooling for electric vehicle propulsion systems, and most recently, the design and analysis of operator consoles for a special mission aircraft.
