1. What drives you to wake up each morning and contribute your best to Airframe Designs?

Having only joined the company recently it is refreshing to look forward to seeing the variety of challenges each day can bring. I enjoy coaching the team and I like being able to contribute to so many projects since starting. The work we do is similar to much of my former life with a lot more agility in the process which removes frustration, this is really nice to experience.

2. How do you kick-start your day?

My standard kick start is Bacon, Eggs and a large coffee.

3. What efforts are you making personally to help with climate change?

I try to be careful with the recycling and repurposing of packaging. If it is possible to walk rather than drive I do so and when driving I try to keep to as efficient routes and speeds as I can. As I currently travel quite some distance ahead of moving more locally I do have a good bicycle which I look forward to using once I am relocated.

4. How do you prioritise and manage your mental and physical health?

This is an interesting question, having joined a smaller company with less process along with minimal company political inertia, the working day is a genuine fixed time and this has helped me to be more disciplined in splitting my work life balance. For physical health I prefer working out in the gym. I am very old school with gyms and prefer old style weight / powerlifter and bodybuilding gyms, rather than health clubs. I also enjoy solving all types of puzzles.

5. Of the four company values (Customer Focus, Team Work, Integrity, Innovation) which one do you consider most frequently?

This is easy to answer, Integrity. It is ones integrity that is judged on all other listed options. The integrity is measured against placing customers as a priority for the business, it is absolutely necessary to operate as a team and build the camaraderie with interpersonal respect – thus personal integrity. And, with regards to maintaining ones integrity, as a good engineer, it is necessary to be innovative in problem solving.

6. Who is your favourite comedian?

Sean Lock has to be number one, sad he has gone. I also highly rate Ricky Gervais, he has addressed so many things head on with courage, speaking the majorities thoughts out loud on politically sensitive subjects in a hilarious way. It’s a difficult one to be honest as it depends on what mood I’m in, I do prefer older comedy so I am thankful for YouTube.
